TECHNICIANS’ TRAINING COURSE - 2017 SOIL ANALYSIS WORKSHOP

When: 31st October to 1st November 2017

Who: The course is aimed at technicians who carry out soil analysis. Priority will be given to corporate and individual members who have not attended the previous ASPAC soil analysis workshops. However, if you would like a refresher please notify your interest and you will be put on the reserve list, and contacted if the workshop does not fill.

Aim of the Course:

To improve performance of methods consistently showing a wide spread of data in ASPAC plant proficiency testing rounds.

Define the critical steps for ensuring accurate results

Share some of the ‘tricks of the trade’

Develop networks with technicians working in similar fields

Example of Course Content:

Sample preparation and processing

Methodology e.g. extractable P, exchangeable cations, ICP-OES

Exercises in assessing real data sets

Quality Control

Laboratory tour – Ravensdown Analytical Research Laboratories

Cost:

$A300 per person (zero-rated for Australian GST as an event conducted outside Australia).

There is a limit of two team members per corporate membership.

ASPAC will provide lunch and refreshments during the workshop and also dinner on the Tuesday evening.

Participants will need to arrange and cover the cost of their own transport and accommodation.

There are numerous accommodation options along Marine Parade, in Napier; about 6km from the workshop venue.
